Discovering New Horizons in the UK
The WWC UK program was a transformative experience that allowed me to delve into the heart of the British business landscape. From the bustling streets of London to the historical charm of Liverpool, every moment was a learning opportunity. Our visit to prominent companies such as Cognizant, Deloitte, and Softcat plc provided a comprehensive understanding of various industries, from tech and cloud computing to client relationship management and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) outreach.
Mr. Joy Khambhaita’s session was particularly eye-opening, challenging the common misconception that the tech industry is solely about coding. His advice to "make mistakes now, so you won't regret them in the future" resonated deeply, encouraging us to step out of our comfort zones and embrace the learning process. Similarly, insights from industry leaders like Mr. Arindam Gupta, Ms. Sonal Jain, and Mr. Tony Lui on programming and cloud computing underscored the significance of meticulousness and the transformative power of artificial intelligence.
A highlight of the UK program was the emphasis on career growth and organizational culture, shared by esteemed professionals like Ms. Padmasini Dayananda and Ms. Midhusa Mohan. Their journeys, marked by dedication and perseverance, inspired us to align our values with our career goals, emphasizing the importance of hard work and determination.
A Vibrant Cultural and Business Exploration in Mumbai
Transitioning to the WWC Mumbai program, my first visit to India, I was excited to explore one of the world's most dynamic economies. The program provided a unique blend of cultural immersion and professional development, allowing me to gain a deeper understanding of India's rich heritage and its thriving business ecosystem.
Our sessions with distinguished speakers such as Mr. Rakesh Nair from the Bombay Stock Exchange and Mr. Jigar Mehta, co-founder of Network Foods, were immensely enlightening. Mr. Nair’s insights into financial literacy and the importance of the stock exchange were invaluable, while Mr. Mehta's entrepreneurial journey with Honey Twigs highlighted the significance of consumer research and marketing strategies.
The program also emphasized the importance of adaptability and continuous learning, as shared by Mr. Rohit Bansal from Reliance Industries and Mr. Karan Desai from Interface Ventures. Their discussions on industry challenges, networking, and effective communication offered practical advice that will undoubtedly shape our professional paths.
Additionally, our visit to RUR Green Life and the session with Ms. Sumedha Bhirde on sustainable waste management solutions were particularly impactful. These experiences underscored the importance of environmental sustainability and the innovative approaches needed to address global challenges.
